Willingness-to-Pay for Environmental Measures in Non-Profit Sport Clubs

To reduce global warming and climate change, the German government plans to implement a carbon tax, which will also affect sport organizations. This study investigates how much club members are willing pay for environmental measures sport-specific, club-specific, environmental, socio-demographic factors associated with their willingness-to-pay. In 2019 2020, active adult in five team/racket sports were sampled using an online survey Germany (n = 3036). The contingent valuation method was applied estimate members’ willingness-to-pay measures. Regression analyses employed investigate set of that decision at all amount results show 64.3% respondents reported positive average amounts EUR 14.53 per year 22.59 those reporting t-tests stating WTP differ significantly from who not anything terms factors. logistic regression indicate likelihood increases increasing consciousness, educational level, weekly practice hours, identification satisfaction club, subjective well-being, while age has U-shaped effect. Tobit model is positively determined by club. findings suggest majority higher membership fees implementation clubs. Increasing level consciousness through initiatives represents way policy managers help increase financial support among members.
